North Garland Montessori School Inc. is a private school
and does not discriminate in the enrollment of students with regard to
race, religion, sex or national origin.
North Garland Montessori School reserves the right to terminate
enrollment if, during the first ninety days of trial period, in the opinion
of the Lead Teacher and the Director, the school is not able to meet the
educational needs of the student.
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES: The students at North
Garland Montessori School are selected with great care. Only children
with committed, moral, and conscientious parents are enrolled. Your child
will attend a class with children of families that have placed the same
importance to their child education and future.
North Garland Montessori School welcomes children from
the age of 18 months to nine years (18
months-9 years) into a warm, friendly environment. Children
need not to be potty trained. Parents are invited to tour the
school and observe classes. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the
North Garland Montessori School at (972) 494-9300. Upon
receipt of tuition deposit, a space in the class is reserved for the student.
All application forms, health requirements and other necessary forms must
be completed and turned in before a child can attend North Garland
Montessori School.
We want to meet your schedule
and will try to accommodate you in any way possible.
SUMMER PROGRAM: Montessori teaching will be in progress
during summer too. However; there shall be more fun activities like art
projects, splash days, cooking, etc.
VISITORS: Anyone coming into school should check
in at the school office. Please do not deliver lunches, books, etc., directly
to the classroom.
DRESS CODE: At North Garland Montessori School
all students and staff wear uniforms. Please make sure that your child(ren)'s
clothing has simple openings to help with bathroom independence. One piece
garments make it difficult for a child to handle by himself. Comfortable
shoes are recommended. Please label all coats, raincoats, jackets, hats
and gloves.
EXTRA CLOTHING: Please send a clear plastic container
containing a complete change of clothes, pants, underpants, shirt, socks.
Label every item, clothes, lunch boxes, coats, jackets, that belong to
your child and she/he may bring it to school.
LUNCHES: The school provides lunches at extra cost.
Children can bring their own lunch boxes. Please label your child(ren)'s
lunch boxes. Please avoid sending anything with artificial coloring, flavoring
or lots of sugar, such as pop tarts, sweetened cereals. Try to send fresh
vegetable such as celery, cucumber, lettuce, carrots, fresh fruits, like
bananas, apples, oranges, raisins, dried fruits (already peeled or cut
into sections). Cut sandwiches in quarters since it will be easier
for your child. And remember that children's work at school is
directly affected by the nutritional quality of their meals. No
candies, No cup cakes, No puddings. Please try to send milk or
one hundred percent natural juice. Take your time and read the ingredients
on juice boxes, if it is not natural juice please do not send it to school.
SNACKS: Children will be served with a morning and afternoon
snack, which shall be fresh fruits, crackers and cookies, dried fruits
and nuts. If you wish to send special snack for your child and his/her
classmates, you may do so on Fridays. Please make arrangements with the
Lead Teacher of the class.
NAP TIME: State law requires that children under
4 years of age need to take a nap. You may send only a blanket. Please
do not send pillows, sleeping bags or stuffed animals. Your child(ren)
should not bring toys, guns, little objects, money, marbles, lipsticks,
small dolls, coins, jacks and anything else which could cause a child
to choke. Toys are avoidable distractions.
VACATIONS: There are no refunds for holidays, family
vacations or absence due to sickness. If absence due to sickness exceeds
over a month, then you may re-enroll your child without paying registration
fees. If your child can not come to school, please call us and let us
know in the morning.
COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS AND/OR COMPLAINTS: If you have any
concerns or questions, suggestions or complaints, please feel free to
talk to the Lead Teacher of your child. Please make an appointment or
leave a message with the Office and try to minimize talking to the teachers
during their class time. Because teachers are there for the need of children
and they have to prepare the classroom for this purpose. Be assured that
your child will receive the best possible care in North Garland
Montessori School, because his/her happiness and well being are
of the utmost importance to us. Our goal is to provide an environment
that is stimulating and loving where your child is happy, content and
feels secure.
VOLUNTEERS: North Garland Montessori School
has an open door policy. Parents are more than welcome to cooperate in
class rooms as volunteers because we want them to know and to see what
their children are doing. If you wish to volunteer on any specific day
please check with the Office first.
MEDICATIONS: According to the state law "Over
the counter" medications will not be given to any school age child by
school staff. Please do not send any medicine
in your child(ren) lunch boxes. Please take the medicine to
the Office in its original container with the child's name and the doctor's
instruction printed on the front. School must have the daily signed Medication
Request Form in file in order to administer the medication.
ILLNESS: If your child has a bad cough, sore throat,
headache, upset stomach or running a temperature, do not send her/him
to school. The child should be free of fever for 24 hours
before returning to school. If your child has any of the above
signs, you will be notified by the Director to pick them up at your earliest
convenience. Please notify the lead teacher or the Office if your child
has a contagious disease because the school needs to alert other parents.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Teachers and classmates of
your child celebrate his/her birthday in a special way to show appreciation
for the birth and growth of a child. If you wish you may bring in pictures
of the child for each year of his/her life with a special snack (please
send cupcakes) on that day. The Lead Teacher of your child will send a
special note in this regard. If you have a party please leave invitations
with the Office and we will deliver the invitations to the parents. In
honor of your child's birthday you may donate a book to the school's library.
CONFERENCES: There shall be two conferences during
the school year. Parents will be notified at least one week prior to the
conference day; however, the date is already specified on the school calendar.
If you wish to have more conferences during the year, please leave a note
with the Office and required arrangements will be made in this regard.
If you wish to speak to a teacher by phone, please leave a message, the
teacher can call you at a convenient time during school hours. School
Office cannot give out teachers' home phone numbers.
AUTHORIZED PEOPLE: Please make note that only the
authorized people stated in the enrollment information can pick up your
child. In case you have to make any other arrangements, you should submit
a signed note to the Office that morning, otherwise; your
child (ren) will not be released to anyone else.
